Content Management System (CMS) is implemented as a web application , for creating and managing HTML content for your web site. It is used to manage and control a large, dynamic collection of Web material (HTML documents and their associated images).

How can I benefit from a Content Management System?

Web sites designed and developed without a content management system require experienced HTML programmers (or other web technology programmers) to make any modifications to the web site. This method can become very costly depending on the frequency and amount of modifications and additions added to the web site. With a CMS, the web site modifications can now be accomplished by anyone who is familiar with Internet browsers and very simplified web application interfaces.

Content Management Systems organize the content of a web site in such a way that makes it very logical for the non-programmer to understand and relate with. For example, if you need to modify a menu item in your web sites top navigation, you would be able to find the menu item data under the "MENU" options.

Typically, formatting of content is controlled through a technology called Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for a web site. In order to change font type, colors, etc. you would normally have to modify the CSS code (which is similar to XML). But with a CMS, formating content can be done through an integrated component which looks and functions very similar to Microsoft Word. There is no more need to modify CSS source code.

A Content Management System will:

  • Reduce the overhead costs of paying for web technology programmers;
  • Increase the speed at which web site changes can be made
  • Allow web sites to constantly have updated information eliminating the worry that your web site will become out-of-date and stale

Services we offer:

There are many excellent Content Management Systems already in the marketplace. And most of them are actually free (controlled under the General Public License). However, a CMS cannot just magically be installed on your web hosting server and will automatically merge with your existing web site. In order to fully integrate a CMS into your web site you will need the following services that we provide:

  • Analysis and suggested BEST Content Management System that will work for your web site. The decision is usually based on the required functionality and various components of your web site. We usually suggest either: Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, or ViArt.
  • Installation and configuration of the CMS onto your web hosting provider, or if you decide to switch hosting services to us, on our web hosting servers (already guaranteed to be compatible with every CMS)
  • Creation of the CMS theme and templates to either replicate your existing web site or implement a completely new web site design. The templates are empty shells of all the different page layouts. This ensures that all your web pages will be consistent in look and functionality. The only thing that will change from page to page will be the content displayed in the template.
  • Will will teach and coach you on how to effectively use your CMS. You will learn the power of the CMS and gain enough knowledge that you will be able to fully administer your web site without having to pay another cent for those very expensive web programmers.
