How do we fix the damage?

In some cases the damage might be unable to be repaired, in others you might be able to simply get a new battery if the battery has been shorted. But the first step in repairing the damage it to assess the situation. The first step is to remove the back cover to remove the battery if not

already done. To remove the back cover, you will have to consult your phone manual, but there is most often a simple clip or button that can be used to remove the cover. Once the cover is remove, you should have access to a bunch of small screws. Battery compartment and screw locationsSmall Screws

You will have to remove the screws and you will have to be very careful not to lose them as they are very small and will be very hard to find. Once lost, these screws will not be able to hold your case together and will void the repair work we are trying to perform so be careful. Once the screws are removed, you will have to open the case which will take a little bit of time and extra care to make sure that the case does not get damaged or cracked, and also so that any cables inside the case do not get snapped. Also, if there are plastic snaps holding together the case at certain key points, we do not want to ruin them. Once the case has been opened you can inspect the circuit board for water drops and residual moisture. Take

a hair dryer without the heat turned on or with low heat turned on and dry the boards. You may have to also remove the board to reveal the keypad side and dry that as well. The more moisture you remove the better so that you do not get corrosion later as well. With any luck, when you put it all together, your phone will be working correctly and you will have saved yourself a few bucks. Be patient when putting everything back together so that no cables get pinched and no plastic pieces get broken.

Happy Coding and good luck!
