Using Syntax Highlighting and TinyMCE in Joomla

Using Syntax Highlighting and TinyMCE in Joomla

Have you tried using a syntax highlighter for any websites like possibly a joomla website? Have you run into issues when you got to save a document and you end up having an endless supply of <br > tags all over the place.

Isn’t it annoying, especially when you are in a hurry and you just can&squo;t afford the time to go and try to clean up a second time. Furthermore, if you try and toggle the editor at the bottom of the admin section, then save, you get the same issue. The only clear cut way to save the day is to seemingly turn off the editor for your user temporarily to do the fixups after the article is written. This issue is compounded by multiple code sections. I have also tried turning off the pre and post save clean up options, but the culprit seems to be in the save code where you select <p> or <br> replacements for carriage returns. These things would probably be served better by a proper syntax highlighter environment however, and a plugin style replacement system such as using {code 1} which gets replaced with whatever the first code section tied to the current article is. This would obviously warrant the inclusion of some sort of lightbox editor situation with specialized db table and a foreign key to the article.
